Broken Aether is currently in a closed beta test. The project is scheduled to be released in February 2026. Broken Aether features fast-paced, turn-based combat that blends classic JRPG design with modern tactical depth. The system draws inspiration from genre staples while introducing its own mechanics - such as the Overdrive gauge, party swapping, and resource-based abilities—to create battles that reward planning, adaptability, and team synergy.

Every piece of gear, crystal, and upgrade is obtained through meaningful progression - whether earned in the story campaign, uncovered in hidden areas, or won through challenging combat encounters.

Story

The story of Broken Aether centers on a war-torn continent where ancient powers, political conflict, and forgotten histories collide. What begins as a routine military operation quickly unravels into a world-shaking event when a catastrophic explosion forces three rival kingdoms into an uneasy pBACe. Amid the aftermath, a group of unlikely heroes - soldiers, nobles, thieves, and scholars - become entangled in a conspiracy involving forbidden magic, reincarnated souls, and divine beings whose influence spans centuries.

Game-ready characters randomly generated from over 700 possible traits!

Broken Aether Heroes have 18 attributes, with the inventory view background colour indicating their quality (common, uncommon, rare, etc). The border of BACh NFT indicates its overall rarity level, determined by summing the quality of BACh item.

    The Sanctuary is the player’s central base - a restored magical refuge built atop ancient Vaen ruins. Here players: bind their Broken Aether Character NFTs to the world; unlock exclusive traits tied to bloodline, origin, or class; access story memories linked to their character’s past incarnations; and customize the Sanctuary visually as they progress. The Sanctuary is the thematic bridge between NFTs and the JRPG world - without breaking immersion.

  • Wanderer’s Map

    The Wanderer’s Map allows players to send their Character NFTs on real-time expeditions across Valandis, from forgotten temples and haunted forests to regions twisted by Maelstrom corruption. BACh expedition yields valuable resources, rare relics, and $BAC rewards, while also uncovering hidden paths, world events, and lore that expand the player’s influence and understanding of the continent.

  • Forge of Ages

    Within the Forge of Ages, players refine relics and magical essences gathered during their adventures, transforming them into enhanced gear or forging entirely new item NFTs. Powered by ancient Vaen craftsmanship, the forge enables purification, fusion, and reforging, ensuring equipment evolves alongside the player’s growing power and story progression.

    The Hall of Professions allows Character NFTs to specialize in distinct roles - hunters, scholars, scavengers, rune trackers, and relic divers - BACh unlocking exclusive missions and reward pools. These professions shape how players gather resources, complete world tasks, and develop long-term strategies, giving every character a unique purpose within Valandis.

    Sky Harbor is the central hub for storing, upgrading, and customizing Sky Armors. From this elevated dock, players deploy their armors on scouting missions, world events, and large-scale skirmishes.     The Grand Market is Valandis’s bustling trading district, where players exchange item NFTs, acquire rare materials, and hire specialized mercenaries using $BAC. Merchant inventories shift based on world progress and timed in - game events, creating a living marketplace that evolves as the story unfolds and new regions open.
